Privacy policy
This policy explains what AstroWorld collects, why, how long we keep it, and how you can get it deleted. We have written it in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email privacy@astroworldlive.com and we will explain.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, and a display name if you provide one. We sign you in with a one-time code; we never store a password.
- Birth details — your date, time and place of birth, and optionally gender and language. These are required to compute a Kundli and are shared with the astrologer you choose to consult.
- Consultation content — messages, images you choose to send, and consultation metadata. Voice and video consultations are recorded: the call audio, and periodic still frames from video, are stored for safety review and dispute resolution. Both people on the call are told this on screen before it starts. Neither participant can play these recordings back; only authorised staff can open them, and they are deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Payment records — wallet top-ups and per-minute billing records. Card and UPI details are handled by our payment gateway and never stored on our servers.
- Astrologer verification data — for astrologers only: identity document, PAN, bank details and a verification selfie, used solely to verify identity and pay out earnings.
- Device and diagnostic data — a push notification token and basic crash or error information so the app keeps working.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not build advertising profiles from your birth chart or consultations.
- We do not make your birth details, photos or consultations public.
- We do not use your consultation content to train third-party advertising models.
Safety scanning
To keep consultations safe, messages and images pass through an automated safety layer (Rakshak) that blocks contact details, payment handles and unsafe media in both directions. This is automated processing for abuse prevention. A confirmed serious violation may restrict an account, and our reviewers can inspect the specific flagged item to make that decision fairly.
Who we share with
- Your astrologer — receives your birth details and what you send them during a consultation. Nothing else.
- Service providers — cloud hosting and database, our payment gateway, transactional email, push notifications, real-time calling, and AI providers used for transcription, translation and safety scanning.
- Legal — where we are required by applicable law to disclose information.
How long we keep it
Consultation history is retained so you can revisit your sessions and remedies. Safety and billing records are retained as long as needed for fraud prevention, accounting and legal obligations. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, birth details, consultation content and media, retaining only the minimum financial and abuse-prevention records the law requires.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and its data from inside the app, under your profile. Deletion is permanent. If you cannot access the app, email privacy@astroworldlive.com from your registered address and we will process the request.
Your rights
You can request access to your data, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact privacy@astroworldlive.com. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
Children
AstroWorld is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Money, earnings and account authority are controlled exclusively by our servers, not by the app on your phone. Verification documents are stored in private, owner-restricted storage without public links.
Changes
If we make a material change we will update this page and the date above, and notify you in the app where the change affects you.
